My Role
UI Designer
Scope
Homepage Design, Light & Dark Modes, Brand Voice Alignment
Overview
Avande is a healthcare data insights company focused on helping providers, payors, and employers make smarter, data-driven decisions. I contributed to two key projects under the Avande brand:
Avande Venture Studios – the innovation arm
Avande.net – the main corporate site
Each required a unique tone and purpose, but both needed to feel aligned, professional, and modern. I led the homepage design for both, incorporating light and dark modes and crafting layouts that communicate trust, innovation, and regulatory expertise.
(WHERE I STARTED)
Problem
Healthcare and data analytics sites often suffer from dry visuals and dense content. The challenge was to design two digital experiences that would reflect Avande’s technical credibility and forward-thinking spirit—while keeping things accessible and visually appealing for non-technical stakeholders.
(MY DESIGN PROCESS)
Process & Approach
I began by studying visual trends in healthcare tech, innovation firms, and B2B SaaS websites. After a competitive audit, I collaborated with stakeholders to define the tone for each brand arm:
Venture Studios: Bold, exploratory, future-forward
Avande.net: Precise, credible, data- and compliance-focused
Using Figma, I created flexible layout structures with clear information hierarchy, clean navigation, and smart use of whitespace. I applied accessible color systems in both light and dark modes, ensuring contrast and readability across both visual themes.
Each homepage included:
Modular hero sections
Benefit-focused highlights
Compliance and credibility callouts
Custom iconography and CTAs
(MY DESIGN IMPACT)
Key Contributions
Designed the Avande Venture Studios homepage with dark/light mode toggles and a modern, startup-inspired feel
Created the Avande.net homepage with a layout emphasizing clarity, regulation, and data reliability
Built clean, component-based systems to ensure visual and content consistency across brand arms
Developed iconography and micro-interaction ideas that align with the tone of each brand
Collaborated with stakeholders to ensure designs reflected the company’s goals in both innovation and compliance
(DELIVERING VALUE)
Outcome
Both homepages became core tools in establishing Avande’s brand identity. The Venture Studios page helped communicate the company’s innovation pipeline, while the Avande.net site elevated credibility with enterprise partners and stakeholders. The modular, responsive designs laid a scalable foundation for future product and content expansion.
(LEARNING IN ACTION)
What This Project Taught Me
How to adapt one visual language across multiple brand voices without losing cohesion
The importance of designing for credibility in compliance-heavy industries
Strengthened my understanding of light/dark mode accessibility standards
Learned to create visual structure that works for both storytelling and transactional content
Built confidence in presenting design rationale to stakeholders across business and tech roles
(HOW I GREW)
This project pushed me to balance brand creativity with clarity—two things often seen as opposites in data-heavy sectors. I left with stronger skills in designing scalable UI systems and aligning visual decisions with brand strategy. It deepened my belief that even the most technical platforms deserve a human-centered, accessible visual experience — something I look forward to bringing to Pinterest’s inclusive and creative product ecosystem.
